JULIE HARRIS

Founder & CEO

Julie launched the Exceptional Women’s Network (EWN) in 2016 to provide more resources to women in pursuit of leadership. This non-profit offers networking events and business workshops that primarily focus on professional development and empowering women in the community. As a former Career Connector at Columbia College Chicago's Media Innovation Department, Julie created the “Prep for your Profession” course noting that women benefit from support in building a powerful network of allies and mentors along with honing their skill sets. There is a constant need for more professional resources, networking and mentorship, especially for women who want to maximize their potential early on and the Exceptional Women's Network serves this need.

In addition to leading a non-profit, Julie also serves as a Worldwide Education Strategic Communications Manager for Motorola Solutions, has an undergraduate degree from DePaul University and holds two master’s degrees in education and journalism. Julie is a proud member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and in her spare time, you’ll find her performing improv at Second City.

People think those who are successful are fearless. The truth is that they are just more intimate with fear.
Achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is the unfinished business of our time, and the greatest human rights challenge in our world.
